Addition

18 hours till plane #1 departs SFO
2 hours from NorCal to SoCal
11 hour layover in L.A.
15 hours from LAX to SYD...

= 46 hours. In just less than two days, I'll be in Australia, getting in a car, and heading up to Newcastle.
